Summer handicap run

The Summer Handicap Route is a 4 mile loop which includes Pyle Hill. The 'Handicap' principle means that the start is staggered with slower runners starting first and quicker later, which means that hopefully everyone finishes together and in doing so achieves a wonderful finishing atmosphere for all. There are usually informal post race teas and coffees in the DLL Woking club bar afterwards.

Edit

Even split run

The Even Split Route entails running 2 laps of a fixed distance course run WITHOUT watches! The 'winner' is the runner with closest difference between the two laps. Amazingly this has been won on several occasions with a 1 second time difference which is truly even pacing! There are usually informal post race teas and coffees in the DLL Woking club bar afterwards.

Edit

Predictor run

This is run round the Summer Handicap Route 4 mile Pyle Hill loop or another with the objective of getting as close to your pre-race predictions as possible, again run WITHOUT watches!! There are usually informal post race teas and coffees in the DLL Woking club bar afterwards.

Edit

Pairs run

This Pairs Run Route is a circular route run with each member of the pair running in opposite directions until they meet, exchange ribbons, turn back the way they came and return to the start. Generally pair consists of a faster and slower runner meaning that the faster runner goes further, as they should! There are usually informal post race teas and coffees in the DLL Woking club bar afterwards.

Edit

Winter warmer run

The Winter warmers are similar to Summer handicap runs. The course uses the well lit Jackmans Route which is run on pavement all the way and is c2.8 Miles. The start /finish line is opposite the DLL Woking club entrance. There is also a gentle warm up before the start of about 1.2 miles (Loop Road). There are usually informal post race drinks in the DLL Woking club bar afterwards.

This event is open to Members partners and family. The Cruisers Committee will provide some drinks and nibbles.

Cruisers Weekend Breaks

These infrequently orgainised long weekends have, in the past, been in places such as the New Forest. These have been really enjoyed by all those that have gone and encompass the clubs philosophy of fun running and socialising. There is a possibility of an event in 2010 but this has not been confirmed.
